| The cribbings and beams are in place. | Three guys spent a day underneath the house digging trenches for the beams to slide through. |
![]() Here we are at the starting point! |
![]() Preparing to move out onto the road. |
![]() Hydraulic jacks raise the house at the wheels. |
![]() Not something you normally see on the road. |
![]() Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore! |
![]() Just leaving the original property. |
![]() Making the first turn onto the main road. |
![]() Houston, we have a turn! |
![]() PGE raised the lines out of the way. |
![]() And away we go! |
![]() |
![]() The first hill took most of the
day.
Tight squeeze between the branches, and going slowly down the hill. |
![]() |
![]() They had to do some additional tree trimming, and PGE had to drop some lines, and pull/push many others out of the way. |
![]() |
![]() Left: Many people came out to see the move. Above: Pushing through some branches. |
![]() At the end of the hill was a
long
straight stretch.
|
![]() We made very good time through
here.
|
![]() Then we hit the second & last hill. |
![]() A sharp corner and big
tilt.
|
A close call at the pole, just a close shave. |
![]() The tin was already bent from
tree limbs.
|
![]() Turning the corner onto our
property
|
![]() Straightening out to go up the
hill.

Finally we made it to our property! They made a sharp turn at the end of our driveway and got it up the hill in one long pull! We had some worries about it being too slippery from the grass underneath or if it rained. The movers weren't sure if the truck could make it up the long hill and might need the tractor to help pull, but it made it! |

| Heading
towards its final resting place |
They used
the Trackhoe to pull the house down into the hole |
![]() |
![]() |
| Trackhoe
couldn't go back any farther so its on to plan B. |
The Trackhoe
may not be able to pull any more, but it can push! |
![]() |
![]() |
| With the
Trackhoe pushing they use the hydraulic cart to steer the dolly wheels |
This guy
stayed under the house as they moved it into place. Not a job I would
want! |

| It's "Lucy";
I'm Home! |
Once the
house was in place, they used giant blocks or "cribbings" to
support the house until we got the foundation done. |
| Jacking up
the house took most of the day. |
The
house is no longer "mobile", the wheels have been removed. |
| This machine controls all the hydraulic equipment. It even steered the wheels. | They used small yet powerful hydraulic jacks to raise the house a few inches at a time. | The house
went up about 12 ft. Now we can get busy on our foundation. |
| This was the view of the house
from the road. If you look closely, you
can see our current home (green) behind it to the left. One of
our barns is in
the background on the right. Our stock trailer is the brown spot
in
the foreground (looks like a toy compared to the house) on the left. |
